The cases are short and clear and to the point. The text does a great job of explaining concepts, providing examples of the rules, and giving short blurbs that help to nail down the point. This highly-efficient, concise casebook offers materials that are thorough and yet brief enough that the subject can be fully covered in a three- or four-credit course. Each chapter covers an article of the Federal Rules of Evidence. Within the chapters and sections, the materials generally follow the sequence of the Rules. The Fifth Edition covers all important recent developments, including Giles v. California (2008) and Melendez-Diaz v. Massachusetts (2009).
